ASSESSMENT OF EMISSION AND PERFORMANCE OF COMPRESSION IGNITION ENGINE FUELED WITH RUBBER SEED OIL AT DIFFERENT INJECTION TIMING (140868)

Abstract : Energy is an indispensable factor for human to preserve economic growth and maintain standard of living.As the fossil fuels are depleting day by day,there is a need to find out an alternative fuel to fulfill the energy demand of the world.Bio diesel is one of th e best available resources that have come to the forefront recently.Engine performance improvement and exhauste missionís reduction are the two most important issues to develop a more efficient engine with fewer environments a impact.For a diesel engine,injection timing is one of the major parameters that affect the engine performance and missions.In this paper,studies are focused on characterizing influence of injection timing on engine performance and exhauste missions.Experiments were conducted on a 4-stroke,water cooled,direct injection,compression engine with 20%blend of rubber seed oil methyl ester(RSOME) and Diesel.Performance and emission parameters were studied at different injection timings(i.e.23 0 bTDC,27 0 bTDC,30 0 bTDC and 33 0 bTDC).
